About Me

Kate Scarlet Harvey is a designer based in Scotland. She is known for her joyful, choreographed, abstract, graphic prints. She trained in printed textiles at DJCAD, graduating in 2017 with the Tailor’s Trade of Dundee award for Innovation in Style, Cut and Structure. Since then, she has worked on collaborations with Local Heroes and the V&A Dundee to create a beach towel, local Gallery KRG to create t-shirts, Dundee Design Fest ‘21 to produce a vinyl print workshop space, and musician Theo Bleak to create upcycled Merch, as well as various graphic design and illustration work, and the occasional window display. She uses her recognisable design style to decorate and connect and has worked with multiple young people’s groups on upcycling and print design workshops. Most recently, working in primary schools on Craft Scotland and Panel’s teacher development programme “Make Learn with the Knit Shop”.

Aside from collaborations, the ‘Kate Scarlet’ label produces one-off printed t-shirts, sweatshirts, and upcycled garments which are posted on her website and Instagram. 

Day to day, Kate works for Knit Shop Scotland as a seamstress and studio assistant.
